What Is the Do Not Call Registry or Do Not Call List?
The National Do Not Call Registry is a list of phone numbers maintained by the Federal Trade Commission, or FTC. Under the Telemarketing Sales Rule, or “TSR,” no phone numbers on the Do Not Call Registry may be used by telemarketers to sell goods or services through interstate phone calls.
Even if your phone number is on the Do Not Call List, however, the TSR does not prohibit calls from businesses that have an existing business relationship with you, political organizations, charities, or surveys.
